Supporting SME’s Online Presence

|Candice and Kathryn will share how Digital Main Street supports small businesses through various programs, and will highlight the program success, web development process, and customer experience timeline.|
Digital Main Street (DMS) is a non-profit organization that supports entrepreneurs with digital transformation through access to digital experts, grant funding, structured training, as well as on-demand learning and more.
The ShopHERE program is designed to help small businesses start selling online quickly and easily, with 1:1 dedicated support from an eCommerce Coordinator to build or optimize an online store. This includes:
– An eCommerce website with customized branding, logo, products/services, and contact information
– Hands-on assistance to set up and launch their online store
– Training to get them started with inventory management, shipping, digital marketing, etc.
– Access to free tools to help support the successful launch of their online store, such as a .CA domain

Starting Your Own Business

|Elery will discuss the process of planning and developing a website in terms of branding and content prep, and share examples of portfolio style as well as e-commerce style websites. Elery will also walk us through a live demo of the Wix dashboard, configuring a Wix template, SEO, and blogging, and will give us an overview of the Wix academic partnership and how to sign up for the one-year free student account, and discuss the benefits of this opportunity.|
